These Lucite beads are so gorgeous. They have a matte finish and such a rich deep tobacco brown color with marbled variegation. I have them in 25 mm teardrop and 18 mm squashed round spacers. From the 1960s, they were made in Italy.
As NOS beads, they are "New Old Stock" from warehouse sales. In Rhode Island, especially, there are many such warehouses that house jewelry components form the 40s to 70s. Factories were closed and sold to those who would resell these individual treasures.
I would love to go to RI to root through those shelves! Maybe some day I will!
